The European Securities and Markets Authority has published an updated Q&A on the application of AIFMD.
On 21 July 2015, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) published an updated version of its questions and answers paper (Q&A) on the application of the Directive 2011/61/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on Alternative Investment Fund Managers, as published in the Official Journal of the European Union of 1 July 2011 (AIFMD).
The new questions and answers are directly integrated in Section III (i.e.questions 1, 65 and 66) and Section IX (i.e. question 2) of the Q&A. These sections deal with reporting to national competent authorities under Articles 3, 24 and 42 as well as the calculation of the total value of assets under management.
