Q&A on financial planning published by FSMA

Published

The FSMA has published a Q&A on financial planning in Belgium.

Since 1 November 2014 and the entry into force of the law of 25 April 2014 on the status and supervision of independent financial planners and on the offering of financial planning services by regulated institutions (published in the Belgian State Gazette of 27 May 2014), financial planning services are regulated services on the Belgian market. Any person, whether natural or legal, willing to offer such services is required to have the prior approval of the Financial Services and Markets Authority (the FSMA).

On 29 June 2015, a Q&A on financial planning and independent financial planners in Belgium was published by the FSMA. The Q&A is aimed at facilitating the understanding of this new legislation and at answering the most frequently asked questions in a pragmatic way.
