Companies investing in fixed assets used for more rational energy consumption, improving industrial processes for energy reasons and for energy recovery in industry, may qualify for a tax benefit through the Energy-Saving Investment Deduction.
In order to claim the Energy-Saving Investment Deduction, a certificate should be obtained from the competent Administration of the Region where the investment takes place, confirming that the fixed assets are included in the list of qualifying investments.
In principle, the application forms should be introduced no later than 3 months following the end of the financial year. For companies with a financial year ending 31 December 2024, the application form should be submitted no later than 31 March 2025.
The Flemish government has provided a one-month extension for submitting application certificates due to challenges in designating the correct roles for submissions. Consequently, companies with a financial year ending on 31 December 2024 now have until 30 April 2025 to complete their submissions.
Additionally, investments made in 2025 by a company with a financial year ending by 31 March 2025 at the latest will now have until 30 June 2025 to submit their application forms.
