We refer to our previous newsflash of 3 December 2021 in which we informed you that the Belgian government formally filed draft legislation in federal parliament regarding among others the changes to the Belgian expat tax regime (on 1 December 2021).
In the meantime, the draft legislation has been discussed for the first time in the Finance Commission of the Chamber during last week. At this stage there are no indications of any (major) amendments to the draft legislation. However, a second reading by the Finance Commission is scheduled on Thursday 23 December at 10 am. This draft legislation will probably be voted in the plenary session of the Chamber on Thursday 23 December in the afternoon. We will keep you updated along the way.
